Pet Transportation Process at GoTHL

Step 1: Initial Consultation

Contact the customer to collect information such as: type of pet, weight, departure and destination points, and desired travel time.

Step 2: Contract Signing

After the consultation, the customer will sign a service contract with us and proceed with the deposit.

Step 3: Document Preparation

Complete all required documents and verify that the pet meets the eligibility requirements for domestic or international travel. A detailed travel plan and schedule for the pet will be arranged and then communicated to the customer.

Step 4: Booking Domestic or International Flights

GoTHL will select the appropriate airline and purchase a suitable ticket for your pet based on your conditions and needs. Six hours before the flight, GoTHL will pick up your pet from you, transport them to the airport, complete all airline procedures, and prepare them for the journey.

Step 5: Monitoring & Delivery

The owner may travel in the cabin with the pet (depending on the airline) or pick up the pet upon arrival at the destination airport. GoTHL will handle customs procedures, provide required entry documents for the destination country, and then deliver the pet safely to your home so your pet can reunite with the family.

Traveling in the Cabin with the Owner

This method applies to small pets. They can comfortably fit inside a carrier placed safely under the passenger seat. Whether a pet is allowed to travel in the cabin depends on each airline’s pet-friendly policies, which usually include strict limits on size and weight (typically under 6 kg).

Checked Baggage Accompanied by the Owner

This option is suitable for larger pets. Although they cannot stay in the cabin, the owner still prefers them to travel on the same flight to save costs when transporting pets abroad (to Europe or any other country). Before flights to the U.S., airlines will thoroughly inspect conditions and ensure adequate oxygen levels for pets during the journey.

Cargo Transport: Pet Flies Alone and Is Picked Up at Destination Airport

This method uses dedicated pet transportation services to send pets independently without the owner. The service handles all paperwork, documentation, carrier preparation, and air freight to the airport in the U.S. Upon arrival, the receiver simply brings identification to the airport, contacts the airline, collects the documents, and picks up their pet.

Each transportation method has its own advantages and limitations. GoTHL always provides tailored advice and full support based on your specific needs.

Procedures for Taking Pets Abroad

Once you are certain that your pet is allowed to travel with you on the plane, you will need to prepare all required documents. To transport your pet overseas, the owner must follow specific procedures and prepare the necessary paperwork. According to current regulations, the following documents and travel procedures are mandatory:

  • A veterinary health record (meeting official standards) issued by a licensed veterinarian or animal clinic

  • Animal quarantine certificate for export

  • Rabies Vaccination Certificate

  • Animal Health Certificate for Export

  • Rabies antibody test (blood test to confirm the pet has sufficient rabies antibodies)

  • Transit permit for countries requiring stopover authorization

  • Pet import permit for entry into countries such as the U.S., Canada, etc.

Depending on the destination country, additional regulations may include:

  • Specific entry documents

  • Mandatory quarantine duration

  • Waiting period before the flight after rabies antibody testing

  • A declaration confirming the pet is transported for non-commercial purposes
